Derby 1/4 final review and reaction plus semi-final draw

KING MEMPHIS now boasts the only unbeaten record remaining in the Star Sports/TRC Derby after Liz McNair's dog produced a commanding performance in the second quarter-final over 500m at Towcester on Saturday.

He produced a best-of-night 28.65sec although Paul Hennessy's Boylesports Bob was only three spots slower when making the most of a rare fast start to rout his fourth quarter-final rivals by over ten lengths.

King Memphis was the only market leader to oblige with Richard Rees' Churchfield Syd landing the opener in 29.08sec and Liam Dowling's Ballymac Slick getting up late to take the third in 29.12sec.

There are six UK and six Irish survivors, split equally between the two semi-finals.

Quarter-final leaders' halfway sectionals from clocker Ray Bourne:
13.71sec King Memphis
13.81sec The Other Kobe
13.83sec Churchfield Syd
13.95sec Cooliogold
