HAVANA TOP NOTE produced a sensational all-round performance to ensure the Liz McNair and KSS Syndicate domination of major six-bend events at Oxford continued by claiming the £10,000 bet365 Hunt Cup final over 650m.

The track record holder was succeeding kennelmate Havana Lover, the 2023 Hunt Cup champion when Havana Top Note had finished third in a McNair 1-2-3, while he himself landed the Challenge Cup over the course and distance just before Christmas.

Sent off evens favourite from a trap five box he had only ever raced from once before, Havana Top Note was not brilliantly away with Tuono Bella first to show but went upon well then bravely drove the bend whilst cutting across his rivals.

Having gone round in front, Havana Top Note effectively put the contest to bed in a matter of strides and was some five lengths clear with a circuit to go.

Tuono Bella battled away and was closing in late on but the line was always going to come in plenty of time for Havana Top Note who scored by just under three lengths in 39.83sec on a very slow track rated -60 with King Ezra nearly eight lengths back in third.
