THE Liz McNair kennel has never had it this good with the private handler heading the Trainer of the Year standings with the hot form also leading to victory at the recent Judgement Night at Hove.

Success in the Star Sports/TRC English Derby remains the Holy Grail, however, with 10 entries this year offering arguably the best strength in depth they have had although two are currently competing in the 3 Steps at Sheffield as a prior engagement.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, assistant trainer Rab McNair was in relaxed mood speaking to Emily Wallis of Star Sports when he first reflected on the kennel's form and previous Derby campaigns then went through the leading members of the 2024 team.
