A [Lion In] Winter tale at Epsom but all eyes on Towcester now

A TALE of two Derbys last Saturday with Epsom's Betfred Derby (In Honour Of His Highness Aga Khan IV) clashing with the semis of the Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound version at Towcester.

It meant that Kaan Hughes, head of on-course for Star Sports, was otherwise engaged on horses rather than greyhounds, particularly one Classic-winning one although his apparent 'bet' on that had a rather large sting in the tale.

There was still good greyhound business to be had and, in conversation with Jonathan Kay, Hughes looks back at the semis and ahead to the final on Saturday where, at time of publication, Star Sports are 11/10 about favourite Bockos Diamond when he is odds-on in places.
