Barron is Donny pick for Calvert after latest unfortunate reverse

HEATHMILL BARRON was impressive in winning a couple of top grade sprints earlier in the year and Debbie Calvert's dog looks good in Doncaster's D2 over 275m at 3.29 as a result.

He has only recently reverted to two-bend racing and has one victory in three starts at this level since then but may have been unlucky not to have doubled that tally latest when not beaten far in third despite going up with the traps.

Hopefully there will be no repeat today and, should that be the case, his speed to the bend can allow him to settle the issue at that point.

Harlow has a morning/evening double-header with Darren Whitton's prolific Moaning Countess capable of landing an eighth win in her last ten starts in an A5 over 415m at 11.38, while Di Jinks' Badminton Debbie (8.34) looks best at the subsequent evening fixture.

Ann Taylor's Lapping It Up (1.12) stands out at Kilkenny's early meeting with Donna Davy's consistent Optic Bucks (5.14) having strong afternoon claims at Valley.
