Beach domination continues, Janssens 1-2-3, Cat 1 for Browne

A monthly video record of the major SIS UK and Irish races run during 2025 with accompanying reporting.
05/07 - Shelbourne: BoyleSports Champion Stakes - Seven Beach
SEVEN BEACH claimed his fourth major prize of the campaign with victory in the €20,000 Champion Stakes final over 550 yards for trainer Jennifer O’Donnell and owners the Beach Boys Trio Syndicate.
Already winner in 2025 of the Gold Cup, Select Stakes and Race of Champions, he held narrow advantage at the opening turn but Ballymac Danica had the inside line and was soon back on terms.
However, Seven Beach flew down the back straight to quickly move into a two lengths lead and then dug in to hold the game Cheque For Cash, who stayed on strongly to be beaten just three-parts of a length in a fast 29.39sec.
05/07 - Shelbourne: BoyleSports Champion Plate 550 - Ballymac Tibet
BALLYMAC TIBET, trained by Liam Dowling for the Metinthehalfway Syndicate, proved too strong for his Champion Plate rivals after turning closer than normal.
He chased reserve Lotto Other News around the opening two bends alongside Clona Comet then made his move before halfway.
He always looked far too close for the pacesetter, hit the front between the last two bends and powered clear to score by three and a half lengths from strong-finishing Hello Diego in 29.40sec.
05/07 - SPrk:Celtic Air Conditioning ON1-Ballymac Stud/Magical Major
THE Liam Dowling-trained BALLYMAC STUD and Pat Guilfoyle’s MAGICAL MAJOR shared the €15,000 prize as they could not be split following a thrilling final of the Celtic Cooling Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Open Unraced over 525 yards.
Ballymac Stud took off in the opening half of the contest, while Magical Major took off in the second half.
Ballymac Stud seemed a certain winner when maintaining his lead down the back straight but Magical Major moved through the gears from halfway and, despite being clipped from behind at three-quarters, he joined the long-time leader on the line with a dead-heat declared in 28.26sec.
20/07 - Towcester: JR Racing Juvenile Classic - Romeo Alliance
ROMEO ALLIANCE was made to work hard for victory initially but was ultimately an impressive winner of the £10,000 JR Racing Juvenile Classic final over 500m at Towcester as he completed an unbeaten run through the Category One competition.
In doing so he led home a 1-2-3 for trainer Patrick Janssens as he beat kennelmates Not So Steady and Romeo Ability by three and a half lengths and a length in clocking 28.95sec (-10).
Romeo Ability, a litter-brother of Romeo Alliance, broke ahead but it was Janssens’ Not So Perfect who showed the best early to lead at the turn.
However, Romeo Alliance barged round in second, challenged at halfway and pulled clear from the third bend to claim the prize in style.
26/07 - Oxford: BetGoodwin Pall Mall - Gingers Prince
GINGERS PRINCE credited both owner Alan Lucas and trainer Patrick Browne with their first Category One success thanks to a last-gasp victory in the £10,000 final of the BetGoodwin Pall Mall over 450m at Oxford.
Slightly uneasy favourite Rioja Oisin (11/8 from an opening evens) had looked set to prove the market wrong, leading up and always seeming to have his closest pursuer, kannelmate Union Rebel, at comfortable arm's length.
However, that view reckoned without the tenacity of Gingers Prince (7/1 from 10/1) who barged through into second at the penultimate bend and then inexorably closed on Rioja Oisin as the winning line loomed.
It was very much last stride stuff but the evidence of the camera confirmed that Gingers Prince had prevailed by a short-head in a very smart 26.43sec (-10) with Union Rebel anther three and a half lengths back in third.
