BOYLE Sports backing return of Lifford Oaks after 16-year gap

THE Lifford Oaks will return for the first time since 2009 later this month with BOYLE Sports stepping in as title sponsor for the €10,000 to-the-winner event over 525 yards.

The revival of the Oaks represents the most prestigious event to take place at the Donegal venue since its reopening in 2023 with heats scheduled for Saturday 18th October, semis a week later and the live-on-SIS final on Saturday 1st November.

Liam McKee, head of sponsorship at BOYLE Sports, said: "We are delighted to partner with Lifford for the first Oaks at the stadium in many years, and the biggest event since its reopening.

"As determined supporters of greyhound racing, it is something we are proud to be part of, so we can’t wait to crown a very worthy champion."

Lifford racing manager Spencer Saberton added: "The return of the Oaks is a huge boost for the track and for everyone who has supported racing here since our reopening.

"To have BOYLE Sports backing the event makes it even more special and we’re thrilled to be hosting a competition which promises top-class racing from the off."

The competition is open to 24 entries who will be bidding to belatedly succeed 2009 champion Calla Princess.
