Brilliant Proper Heiress crowned Greyhound of the Year for 2025
PROPER HEIRESS is the 2025 Greyhound of the Year after a stunning campaign which saw him land an unprecedented five Category One titles plus the prestigious one-off Juvenile Championship as well as reaching the Irish Derby final.
Trained by multiple champion Mark Wallis and owned by the MWD Partnership comprising Wallis and Towcester promoter Mike Davis - who were also crowned champion owners - Proper Heiress landed Monmore's Winter Derby, the Kent Plate at Central Park, both the Sussex Cup and Olympic at Hove and Nottingham's Eclipse.
It was a stellar night for Wallis and the MWD Partnership as they also saw their Mongys Wild triupmh in both the Stayer and Marathon categories while New Destiny was Bitch of the Year.
Mark Moisley, GBGB commercial director, said: "Congratulations to the connections of all this year's GBGB Award-winning greyhounds.
"It was a brilliant year of racing with outstanding winners and some categories that were very close, and it was fantastic to be able to celebrate both the winners and other nominees at the Awards ceremony.
"We were also delighted to be able to recognise the people who make our sport so great - from owners and trainers to kennelhands and track staff - who all work tirelessly each day to keep our sport running at the very highest standard.
"We look forward to seeing all that they and their greyhounds continue to achieve over the coming year!"
