Brown set to prosper again at Suffolk with century in sight

TRAINER Michelle Brown is targeting 100 open-winners this year with around a dozen needed and the three remaining open-race Tuesdays at Suffolk Downs will be key to her achieving the aim.
She has recorded an incredible 23 open victories at the venue since it reopened in early November and has 13 runners at this evening's meeting, including a couple of races where she has half or more of the field.
Her Golden Acre and Savana Kilauea are both seeking a hat-trick when they line-up in the 8.26 over 388m with the first-named just preferred, while Brown's class-dropping Crafty Prospero can prove too good all-round in the 7.14 over 716m and rates the day's best bet.
Other Brown-trained obvious fancies are Bucking Bucks (6.04), Essex Crazy (6.21) and Savanaacatenango (8.43), while Laura Pruhs' Come Back Kid (6.56), Jason Gornall's five-timer seeking Indian Floyd (7.31) and Jane Craske's Isthatmyfella (7.51) are others to stand out.
Karen Dodington's Spot On Amethyst can register a first top grade sprint victory in Oxford's 3.22 over 253m, while Roy Smith's Glengar Henry can make it five wins in eight starts since returning from a lay-off by taking Star Pelaw's A1 finale over 435m at 8.16.
Tralee hosts the early Tuesday card and the best could come in an A6 at 1.47 in the shape of James Hannon's Cashen Bertie after a couple of recent near-misses, while Mary O'Sullivan's Letterbox Shelia (12.21) is an earlier suggestion there.
