Brown to continue hot streak but Cutie appeals at best best of day

SAVANA KILAUEA has won at both Suffolk Downs open-race meetings since its return to action and Michelle Brown's youngster can become the first to complete a hat-trick with victory in the 388m puppy opener at 6.04.

It was harder work for the speedy front-runner seven days ago than a week earlier but he dug in to hold on by a short-head and tonight's assignment looks significantly less demanding.

No trainer in the country has registered more opens wins in the past fortnight than Brown's tally of 12 and she should add to that this evening courtesy of the likes of Savanaacatenango (6.56), Rapido Auz (8.09) and Savana Robbie (9.18).

Jason Ray is another trainer with multiple claims through In The Money (6.39), Swift Jordana (7.51) and Savana Clowns (8.26), likewise Jason Smith with Westfield Bullet (6.21) and Westfield Gracie (9.01).

Roy Peckham's Tax Evader (7.31) and Jane Craske's Isthatmyfella (8.43) are other selections on a full open card.

There is also evening open action at Star Pelaw where Colin Watson's Brunos Boy looks a standout in a 435m winner of one at 6.29 but the best bet could be Sam Atkinson's Bogger Cutie in a 590m maiden at 6.46.

She has twice finished second in similar contests and was was asked a far stiffer question against Glengar Luna last time with the winner basically a cut above this level.

Tralee has a morning card with John O'Keeffe's Daleroad Best selected again when he goes in an A2 over 525 yards at 12.04 after last week's opportunity was lost with the meeting abandoned, while there is also early action at Towcester where Jean Liles' Cappa Gracie can open her account in an A6 over 500m at 11.38.

Oxford holds the afternoon fort with Terry Nevin's Alohas Comet capable of making it eight wins in 11 D3 starts in the 4.37 over 253m.
