Bubbles can blow her Youghal rivals away for a first victory

GLENFINN BUBBLES can open her career account at the sixth time of asking with victory in Youghal's A7 opener over 525 yards at 11.13.

Kevin Barry's bitch had a delayed start to racing life and kicked off with a couple of sprints at Curraheen Park before transferring to four bends at this venue, being sent off a strongly-supported odds-on favourite last time.

The formline indicates she was disappointing but, after early crowding prevented her from showing her paces initially, she made good progress along the back straight before running out of steam and fading late on.

A better run early and she could soon have this field stretched right out before digging in to secure victory.
