Cabra Kali can provide evening fireworks as Irish tracks step in

UK greyhound racing takes an early bath on Wednesday ahead of Bonfire Night and the associated fireworks with the result that there is a distinctly Irish flavour to the schedule.

Thurles and Youghal step into the evening breach with nine- and eight-race cards respectively and Cabra Kali (7.14) looks something to bet on at the first-named venue.

Paddy Scally's bitch has hinted lately at a return to form after a quiet spell but gets a drop to A7 company all the same and will take the world of beating if anywhere close to the level of her 29.51sec A5 victory in early September.

Other fancies at the Co. Tipperary venue are Bottle Banker (6.21) and Kelseys Buster (6.39).

At Youghal, Mark Drinan's Wagga Carr On (6.46) and Farout Lenny (7.24) are the standouts, while there is also early Irish action at Kilkenny where Cindy Nolan's doubly-downgraded Yacht Marshal can finally open his track account at the 11th time of asking in an A7 over 525 yards at 1.12.

In terms of the UK racing taking place before the greyhounds are safely kennelled away, Darren Whitton's Moaning Versace (12.12), Sue Watson's Dromana Stan (2.33) and Donna Davy's Unwanted Present (4.56) are the picks at Harlow, Doncaster and Valley respectively.
