Cody rolls back the years to star at Tralee in a quiet start to 2026

LABANA CODY, two months after his fourth birthday and giving at least a year to all his rivals, was a comfortable winner of the €4,000 Astra Kennels Stakes over 525 yards at Tralee's Kingdom Stadium.

Owned and trained by Batt O'Shea, the 4/1 chance chose the perfect moment to end a losing run of some four months and did it in style, making all for a two and a half lengths victory over favourite Daleroad Best in clocking 28.39sec.

The time was only four spots outside his career best set way back in August 2023 on what was just his second start.
