Dowling holds strong claims as Tote Gold Cup gets under way

THE Liam Dowling duo of Solo And Go and Ballymac Stud head the outright betting for the €16,000 Tote Gold Cup which starts with six heats over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park on Saturday evening.

Solo And Go just missed out in the Irish Laurels final at Cork but did secure an end-of-year title when landing the Kingdom Derby at Tralee, while Ballymac Stud was last seen competitively in the Irish Derby semis last September having previously dead-heated in a valuable unraced competition at the track.

The semis and final of the Tote Gold Cup are live on sisracing.tv on Saturdays 21st and 28th February.
