Droopys Kathleen withdrawn from Lifford Oaks due to injury

DROOPYS KATHLEEN, who had been installed as 6/4 favourite by the sponsor for the BOYLE Sports Lifford Oaks starting on Saturday, has been withdrawn from the event due to injury and will be replaced in the opening heat by Shelone Zara.
Peter Farrell reported in the Talking Dogs section of the GRI website [www.grireland.ie]: “Her entry had caused quite a stir across the Northwest, but she’ll now be taking it easy for a while after picking up an injury on the gallop.”
It is understood that the Robert Gleeson-trained Droopys Kathleen, who lost her unbeaten record when eliminated from the English Oaks at Dubstall Park last weekend, has sustained a tendon injury which will require surgery.
Additionally, Pivotal Time has also been withdrawn with Magical Poppet replacing her in heat three.
In the absence of Droopys Kathleen, Irish Derby finalist Magical Mag has been promoted to 5/2 ante-post favourite by sponsor BOYLE Sports.
The revival of the Lifford Oaks represents the most prestigious event to take place at the Donegal venue since its reopening in 2023 with heats scheduled this Saturday, semis a week later and the live-on-SIS final on Saturday 1st November.
BOYLE Sports (Lifford Oaks): 5/2 Magical Mag, 5 Westway Rossa, 6 Glengar Martha, Hackney Tango, 12 Imokilly Roxanne, Magical Sapphire, 14 Body Mind Spirit, Unreal Unreal, 16 Durrow Star, 20 Cosmonaut, Singalong Polly, 25 Bowadis Raven, Brickhill Moana, 33 bar (e-w 1/4 1,2,3,4).
