Earlier than expected Saturday graded return at Suffolk Downs

SUFFOLK DOWNS is to make an earlier-than-expected return to all-graded meetings with such fixtures now scheduled for the morning of Saturday 15th November and afternoon of Friday 21st November.

Richard Brankley, head of greyhound operations for SIS, said: “Everyone connected with the reopening of Suffolk Downs has been pleasantly surprised by the number of trainers and dogs coming forward to race there.

"In the current climate it’s a welcome change and, for this week, we have slotted in a second all-graded meeting for the track on Saturday morning to accommodate everyone.

"The following week Suffolk Downs has been pencilled in to race the Friday afternoon in place of Oxford which is hosting a separate all-day event.”

Suffolk Downs stages its second open-race card on Tuesday evening since returning from a 15 months shutdown following a major fire.
