Emilys set to star over six bends but Popper is proper Pelaw value

Emilys set to star over six bends but Popper is proper Pelaw value

EMILYS SUPERSTAR has been kept ticking over in four-bend races of late but Glenn Foot's bitch will relish the step back up to 590m for a Star Pelaw open at 7.42.

She did land an A2 over the shorter trip here before a couple of creditable open efforts but is likely to be right up with the pace from the off this evening and can avenge a shock 22nd February reverse at the hands of kennelmate Wonderful Dolce.

She will be priced accordingly but Henry Young's Popper Joe, who looks drawn to beat some in-form rivals in a 435m contest at 7.24, could be a spot of value while Martin Stout's Hillside Lily dropped a big hint that her turn is close when second last week and she can go one better over the same four-bend trip at 9.09.

Ted Soppitt's Sunnyside Ted can rebound from an odds-on reverse seven days ago in a 245m sprint at 6.29 with Chloe Hardy's Vinegarhill Rhys the pick in a subsequent division at 8.52.

Valley is first track to start with Donna Davy's veteran Random Vicky expected to make the most of a first-ever D4 sprint appearance at 12.54, while Jimmy Gaskin's Keefill Apollo (12.12) can improve his already-excellent 50 per cent B2 strike rate at Doncaster.

There is afternoon and evening Irish action from Lifford and Clonmel respectively - at Lifford David Park's Harrys Pepper (3.59) and Sean Maxwell's Crokers Mick (5.29) stand out, while Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Layla (6.56) and Billy Murphy's Ascot Logan (8.43) are the strongest fancies at Clonmel.
