GBGB chief Bird calls out to all MS voters ahead of Bill reading
GBGB chief executive Mark Bird has again warned of the consequences of the "harmful Bill" proposing to ban greyhound racing in Wales which is due for its first reading in the Senedd today [Tuesday 16th December].
The Prohibition of Greyhound Racing (Wales) Bill is item 8 on the agenda for Plenary, the full meeting of all 60 members of the Senedd, and is likely to be discussed then voted on around mid-afternoon.
Bird said: "Today each Senedd Member [MS] has a choice. They can either disregard the unprecedented criticism of two cross-party committees and risk passing flawed legislation, or they can act responsibly and prevent a harmful Bill from advancing any further.
"As one of the Committee Chairs has already said, this is not how good law is made.
"In the final months of the Senedd term, the focus should be entirely on issues that voters actually care about, not a political Bill which will only have negative implications for jobs, the economy and animal welfare."

The GBGB was previously granted permission for a full substantive hearing reqesting a judicial review of any legislation.
