Heiress wins over the sceptics after a Derby race for the ages

JUST when it seemed that the BOYLE Sports Irish Derby had lost some of its star appeal with the withdrawal of reigning champion Bockos Diamond, Proper Heiress and Cheap Sandwiches served up a race for the ages in his absence.

Jonathan Kay chairs a weekly catch-up with Shelbourne commentator Ian Fortune and Damien Lonergan from the sponsor to gather Classic thoughts and it is fair to say that English eyes were smiling in this installment after round three.

As well as the brilliant Proper Heiress/Cheap Sandwiches buckle, gatecrasher Ballymac Stud gets the thumbs up and there is also an early look ahead to the quarter-finals this weekend.
