THE 2025 Irish St Leger, one of Irish greyhound racing’s most prestigious and historic competition, will take place at Limerick Greyhound Stadium over the next month with a new title sponsor thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Murphy family.

The Callaway Pro-Am at Stud Irish St. Leger will kick off with the first round on Saturday 19th July culminating in a final on Saturday 9th August, which will be broadcast live on sisracing.tv. The trap draw is next Tuesday, 15th July, at 11am.

The classic 550 yards event has an impressive €30,000 first prize and has been won for the past two years by the James and Muireann Murphy-owned, Graham Holland-trained Clonbrien Treaty.

Clonbrien Treaty (T6) was the first greyhound in more than 50 years to retain the title

A cornerstone of Irish greyhound sport, the St Leger was inaugurated in 1932 at Celtic Park, Belfast.

Initially rotated among prominent tracks including Clonmel, Shelbourne Park and Harold’s Cross, the race found its permanent home at Markets Field in Limerick in 1944 and today continues its proud legacy at the modern Limerick Greyhound Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the event, GRI/RCÉ CEO Tim Lucey said: “We are incredibly grateful to Denis Murphy and the Murphy family for their support of this year's Irish St Leger.

"Their sponsorship, in the name of the outstanding stud dog Callaway Pro-Am, reflects their deep passion for greyhound racing and commitment to the future of the sport.
