Knegare favourite for 600 final but draw could have been kinder

THE €15,000 Shelbourne Open 600 final is the centrepiece of Saturday's card at the Dublin track which can be seen in its entirety on sisracing.tv
The 600 yards trip is one of the most famous in greyhound racing, comprising almost three full Shelbourne Park straights, with this year's decider having added interest following the news that two of the finalists, Ballinabola Jim and Singalong Molly, have been entered for the Star Sports/TRC English Derby starting at Towcester next week.
The Owen McKenna-trained Callaway Knegare, already winner of the Juvenile Derby at the track and third in the Irish Derby proper, is an odds-on favourite after clocking a best-of-year 32.10sec in the semis.
Betting (Shelbourne Open 600 final, Saturday): T1 Ballyhooly Bruno 4/1, T2 Timmys Bucks 16/1, T3 Callaway Knegare 8/11, T4 Singalong Molly 6/1, T5 Glenlara Blue 33/1, T6 Ballinabola Jim 4/1.
Jonathan Kay and Ian Fortune look ahead to the big race.
