Mission statement as he powers to Lennies Derby Kilkenny win

MISSION CONTROL powered to victory in the €10,000 final of the Lennies Derby & KGOBA over 525 yards at Kilkenny.

Trained by Michael English for Owen Dooley, the 9/4 chance initially turned fourth but then quickly found himself in second as market rivals Da Bould Johnjoe and Rallying Billy had a coming together on the inside with Kilgraney Bob cutting across the field from six to lead.

Mission Control closed in along the back straight and clipped Kilgraney Bob from behind when coming to challenge, the leader faring worst and losing much momentum.

Conversely, Mission Control was quickly in full flow again, led before the third bend and went on to beat strong-finishing Mystical Ranger by three lengths in 29.12sec (-30) with Kilgraney Bob tiring in third.
