Outa The Clouds converts early lead into win for rugby's Burton
OUTA THE CLOUDS, at March 2024 the youngest finalist, credited former rugby international Mike Burton with a first Category One success as a trainer when landing the £10,000 KAB Puppy Collar final over 450m at Oxford.
Only five went to traps following the withdrawal of Aero Najem but it was still 11/4 field with Ollie The Ox, unbeaten in the event going into the decider, the favourite.
However, Outa The Clouds, who had rebounded from a 1/4 heat reverse with a smart semi-final victory, broke best and was always in control, going on to beat Romford Puppy Cup heroine Scooby Diamond by just over a length in 26.69sec (normal) with Ollie The Ox four lengths back in third.
