Pio to make the most of surprise drop in class on Waterford card

PLACID PIO was an A2 Waterford winner as recently as April so the drop to A4 company in the 2.03 over 525 yards at the Kilcohan Park track is eye-catching to say the least.

Joe Anglim's dog is two from five overall at this level and is hardly in poor form as he returns to it, having won once and finished third three times in his last four A3 appearances.

Best when up with the pace, he is capable of taking early command and should prove difficult to beat.

Quibble (12.04) is another Waterford fancy, while Millmount Socks (3.22) and Airfield Thunder (4.18) are the picks at Thursday's other SIS Irish card at Limerick.

Droopys Billy (11.21) and Savana Robbie (5.03) are the respective picks at Oxford and Towcester, while Ridleys Outlook (6.39) and Quare Diva (8.52) can score at evening meetings at Star Pelaw and Valley.
