Plunge the stat that matters but Irish top multiple Derby metrics

IRELAND came out on top in just about every Star Sports/TRC English Derby metric in 2025 bar the one that mattered most with victory going to Patrick Janssens' Droopys Plunge ahead of a five-strong Irish final team.
In addition to winning the most heats (33 to 30), Ireland also topped the official sectional standings courtesy of Ballinabola Joe's 3.91sec in the opening round, as well as our back straight clockings which were headed by Graham Holland's ultimate runner-up Bockos Diamond with a 15.53sec second round effort.
Holland trained the most winners during the competition, 13 compared to Janssens' 11, while the near 10 lengths victory of Paul Hennessy's subsequent track record breaker Lennies Desire in the opening round was the biggest winning margin.
