Punt may fluff his lines but can still build decisive Oxford lead

FLUFF THE PUNT has three wins in five Oxford graded starts and, having mastered A1 company at the third time of asking, can go in again in the 8.43 over 450m there.

Terry Nevin's charge was unable to get to the front in an open last time, ultimately fading late on, but this is a field he is expected to dominate even if his trapping still leaves a little to be desired.

What is not in doubt is his brute early pace and that can get him to the front by the opening bend then away from a field which includes a couple of rivals he had well behind in that A1 victory on 12th December.
