In-form Emilys should prove the star on superb Pelaw open card

EMILYS SUPERSTAR has a near-perfect nine from ten record over the course and distance and Glenn Foot's bitch can set a tough early standard in the opening heat of the Untold Racing Stewards Cup over 590m at Star Pelaw (8.18).

The competition is one of two Category Two events getting under way on a full 13-race open card at the venue - the SR Transport Rose Bowl over 435m being the other - and the selection is fancied to make it six wins in a row, the latest having come on her travels at Doncaster, by making all.

Clona Curly should have learned from his look round in a trial stakes last week and Diane Henry's dog again carries the nap vote in heat two at 8.32, while other Stewards Cup first round selections are Tom Heilbron's Ballymac Sargie (8.48) and Dean Blackbird's Killieford Goram (9.06).

Heilbron also has strong earlier claims in the Rose Bowl courtesy of Unanimous Leon (7.17) and Madabout Peck (8.03) with Ted Soppitt on the double trial himself with Sunnyside Gurkha (7.34) and Sunnyside Jayden (7.48).

Foot can bookend proceedings by taking the one-off opener with Ballinabola Eve (6.24) and finale with Mags Star (9.40).

Doncaster is another track to offer an exclusively open evening card including heats of four-bend (483m) and sprint (275m) competitions in which the main picks are Carol Weatherall's Newinn Sharky (7.42) and Michelle Brown's Essex Tiger (8.16).

There is also early Saturday morning action at Doncaster with Jimmy Gaskin's Trewmount Lady the main fancy when she goes in a B3 over 450m at 11.47, while Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Bess (4.18) and Terry Nevin's Savana Monica (9.01) are afternoon and evening picks at Youghal and Oxford respectively.
