Rural fastest in Juvenile Derby again as Holland star makes all

RURAL PEST set the Time Juvenile Derby standard for the second round running with an emphatic performance in the opening semi-final over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park.

Graham Holland's dog was once again foot-perfect at traps as he pinged from five and he then got the better of a first bend tussle with Unanimous Leo to take full command.

Droopys Faithful moved into second at three-quarters and stayed on well but the winner was never threatened as Rural Pest came home two and a half lengths clear in a superb 28.07sec with Unanimous Leo qualifying a length away in third.

Liam Dowling, who had five representatives in the semis, missed out in the opener but did secure a finalist when his Ballymac Tibet powered to victory in the second eliminator.

He barged across kennelmate Solo And Go to lead at the first bend and the Champion 550 winner was always in control afterwards, coming home five lengths ahead of Getup The Boy in 28.47sec with Toolmaker King tiring in third two lengths back.
