Same again for Setanta as he is standard-setter for a fourth time

DIFFERENT week, same outcome as Ballymac Setanta was fastest in the BarOne Racing Irish Laurels over 525 yards at Curraheen Park for the fourth round running.

Liam Dowling's charge was sent off 5/4 second favourite for the opening semi-final with rails drawn and fellow unbeaten contender Droopys Patriot the 4/5 market leader only to mistime the start.

Conversely, Ballymac Setanta was quickly in front and never threatened as he went on to score by three lengths from Magical On Fire in clocking 27.99sec with Trionas Tribe the same distance back in third.

In the second semi, Murt Leahy's Lemon Joey was even more dominant pulling away to claim a six lengths victory over Solo And Go, recording 28.09sec, with Ballymac Brandan third.

Solo And Go is owned by a syndicate of Kerry GAA players, including well-known All Ireland winning duo brothers David and Paudie Clifford, and subsequently drew the plum trap draw for Saturday's €30,000 'Derby of the South' final which is live on sisracing.tv
