Setanta best again in Laurels but Patriot is now outright favourite

BALLYMAC SETANTA was fastest for the second week running as Liam Dowling's charge proved too good for Faypoint Harvey in the opening heat of round two in the BarOne Racing Irish Laurels over 525 yards trip at Curraheen Park.

The January 2024 youngster was recording a sixth win in his last eight starts as he got inside Faypoint Harvey to lead at halfway, going on to score by two lengths in 28.09sec.

However, Droopys Patriot is now the general outright favorite for he €30,000 event after he also followed up his victory of a week earlier when taking the round two finale in 28.29sec for Robert Gleeson.

The grand final of the 'Derby of the South' is live on sisracing.tv on Saturday 8th November.
