Shocks the order of the month as outsiders dominate finals

A monthly video record of the major SIS UK and Irish races run during 2025 with accompanying reporting.
08/08 - Shelbourne Park: Time Juvenile Derby - Getup The Boy
GETUP THE BOY, the 16/1 outsider of the field, landed a shock but thoroughly merited victory in the €25,000 Time Juvenile Derby final over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park.
Trained by Mark Robinson for Daniel Ornstein, the January 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout and Peckies Flyer ran down long-time leader Unanimous Leo off the final bend, switching wide to deliver his challenge and getting up for a three-parts of a length victory in 28.31sec.
Droopys Faithful stayed on well another length and a half back in third but heavily-supported 5/4 favourite Rural Pest cae in fifth having lost a prominent pitch when crowded at the first bend then making little impression afterwards.
09/08 - Lmrk: Callaway Pro Am Irish St Leger - Drombeg Banner
DROMBEG BANNER (20/1) followed Juvenile Derby champion Getup The Boy 24 hours earlier as a shock winner of a Classic when just holding Flight Club to land the €30,000 Callaway Pro Am @ Stud Irish St Leger over 550 yards at Limerick.
In doing so, the November 2022 son of Explosive Boy and Hazelfield Echo ensured that 18-year-old Evan McAuliffe emulated Daniel O'Rahilly, then 17, who claimed last year's Kirby Memorial at the track with Knockeen Dazzler, as a teenage winner of a Limerick major event.
There was an early indication that the Leger final might not go to script when favourite Hello Diego, who was never a factor throughout, fluffed his lines at the start, while treble-seeking Clonbrien Treaty was only moderately away before pacing up to turn second.
Conversely, Drombeg Banner had taken a flyer and was in control with Clonbrien Treaty never quite looking like getting to him as hard as he tried.
Ultimately, it was Flight Club who threw down the big challenge as he flew late on the outside but the evidence of the camera showed that Drombeg Banner had held on by a short-head in 29.57sec with Blastoff Heffo third and Clonbrien Treaty tiring late on into fourth.
16/08 - Oxford: BGBF British Bred Oaks - Coppice Lottie
COPPICE LOTTIE (9/1) proved best of trainer Kevin Hutton's five-strong team as she outstayed kennelmate Miss Kubelik to land the £3,000 BGBF British Bred Oaks final over 450m at Oxford.
Miss Kubelik cut across favourite Signet Nayla to lead at the first bend and looked to have done enough when building a decent lead only for the stamina of four-time six-bend winner Coppice Lottie to kick in.
Closing in rapidly from three-quarters, the Tony Brearley-owned bitch got up for a neck victory in posting 27.03sec (-20).
