Sole Mio out on his own through R3 back straight sectional point

SOLE MIO earned the double distinction of fastest overall and fastest back straight sectional in the third round of the Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby at Towcester last Saturday.

Peter Cronin's charge remains unbeaten in the event and is on an upward trajectory in terms of the clock, his 28.54sec (calc) being his fastest overall, likewise his 15.74sec back straight split despite the going being rated -10.

Second round standard-setter Bockos Diamond was next best in 15.80sec despite a slight stumble in leaving traps which ultimately left him battling to hold off kennelmate Cheap Sandwiches (15.88).

In all, half of the 24 qualifiers broke the 16.00sec mark for our back straight clocking point.
