Solo And Go is into 5/2 for Gold glory despite round two reverse

SOLO AND GO has firmed into 5/2 favourite for the €16,000 Tote Gold Cup despite second round defeat over Shelbourne Park's 525 yards course.

Liam Dowling's charge allowed powerful kennelmate Ballymac Siun but battled hard to be beaten just a length and a half and now faces that rival again in the semis along with another Dowling representative in Ballymac Stud.

Fastest first round winner Crossfield Matt was another to taste defeat in round two but looks have fared well in the draw by missing the Dowling trio and is a 6/1 chance ahead of a clash with sole remaining unbeaten runner Swords Style who gets a 10/1 quote.
