Spot set to star at Clonmel gala with Tombstone best in Britain

CLONMEL plays host to a superb Sunday card with Newinn Spot fancied to complete an unbeaten run through the main event, the €6,500 Rural Kennels Open Unraced Stake final over 525 yards at 7.51.

His trainer Graham Holland landed the competition five years in a row before having to settle for second and sixth in 2025 as Jennifer O'Donnell's The Other Wild claimed glory but normal service can be resumed this evening.

Ian Fortune rates him the best bet on the card, with kennelmate Ballydoyle Tina an earlier strong fancy at 6.56. Click the link below for his race-by-race analysis.

There are two other Sunday Irish fixtures with Conor Duffy's Mags Whiskey (4.18) fancied at Mullingar and Declan Crossan's Monroe Daisy (7.46) at Lifford.

Feature at Oxford is the BetGoodwin Standard final over 450m at 5.03 with Kevin Hutton's Baran Tombstone suggested as the best bet of the day.

He was marginally slower than fellow heat winner Alright Twinkle last week but has clear first run potential on that rival with his initial task being to clear fellow speedster Newinn Bliss early.

The Sunday open action begins early at Valley with five maiden contests, pick being a 460m event at 2.03 where Donna Davy's Epic Evelyn can make it six wins in ten starts at the track.

Best at Doncaster's early fixture is Craig Williams' Rising Apollo (12.12) who can open his D3 account at the sixth time of asking, while Ken Kennedy's Samba Roxy (7.42) can score in a similar contest at Star Pelaw this evening.
