Spruce is primed to end losing run with chance to see the front

SPRUCE AIR has been in the doldrums for a while but there were signs of a renaissance last time before she found trouble and Ruairi Bourke's bitch is well worth chancing in Tralee's A5 over 525 yards at 1.12.

There is not huge early pace in the contest so the selection is fancied to be up there from the off and it is perhaps significant that the most recent occasion she led a field was when demolishing A3 rivals back in November.

Earlier, Seamus Cooper's Tokenfire Frost can open her career account at the fifth time of asking by seeing off A6 rivals at 11.29.

Oxford and Valley stage afternoon cards with the downgraded duo of Graham Wright's Russcon Hardy (5.14) and Paul Maynard Sondicow (3.29) the respective suggestions.
