Star Pelaw will stage first hurdles race on Tuesday evening card
TRAINER Ricky Holloway will send a quartet of hurdlers to Star Pelaw on Tuesday for the track's first hurdles open, indeed the first hurdles race in the UK for more than a year since Crayford closed in January 2025.
Three of the four - Dazl Hermes, Mickys Tribute and Razldazl Barkley - gained experience of the 435m jumps course at a ground-breaking trial session last month and they will be joined on the journey north by 2024 Grand National semi-finalist Cloheena Rodney.
Star Pelaw racing manager Dave Gray revealed that the track had learned from that initial trials session, saying: "We’ve made a few tweaks to the set-up of the hurdles as recommended by the GBGB so we're all ready to go for Tuesday."
