Stick with red in Juvenile semis at Shelbourne Park this evening

BALLYMAC STUD survived a first round scare to impress last week and Liam Dowling's charge looks drawn to take the opening semi-final of the Time Juvenile Derby over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park (8.32).

Rural Pest went faster seven days ago but did everything right on that occasion and will not lead so easily here whereas the selection has a brilliant draw on the rails, can turn handy then prove best in the second half.

Trap one can also provide the answer to the second semi at 8.48 in the shape of Robert Gleeson's Toolmaker King even though he is yet to win in the event.

He has a bit to find with Ballymac Tibet on first round form but is far better drawn now and it is significant that the only other occasion he ran from one he landed a valuable unraced final at Curraheen Park.

Other Shelbourne fancies are Brendan Matthews' Ello Ello (8.18), Dave Bourke's Grouchos Ace (9.06) and Gleeson's Droopys Slick (9.40).

Harlow has a morning/evening double-header with Paul Clarke's Shesgoodcompany (11.54) and Kevin Cobbold's September Dream (6.46) the suggestions, while Rosemary Price's No Comet is a strong fancy in Mullingar's A5 finale at 1.47.

Principal UK meeting is at Oxford where Matt Dartnall's Brentfordpenguin (7.51) appeals, while Graham Payne's Champagne Zombie (4.26) is the pick at Towcester's afternoon fixture.
