Strike early on Monday with Youghal class-dropper Gem

SHANBALLY GEM gets a significant class drop for Youghal's A4 over 525 yards at 11.29 and it will be disappointing if he cannot make the most of the opportunity.

Pat Magnier's dog was fancied for an A2 contest only seven days ago but found trouble when moving to the inside from four and was well beaten.

Drawn much nearer the fence in two and against lesser rivals, he is fancied to quickly take control.

Other Youghal fancies are Mark Drinan's Wagga Carr On (12.04), Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Ella (12.21) and Jeremiah Kelleher's Canvas Ellie (1.29).

The afternoon action comes from Doncaster where Sue Watson's Droopys Freebie (2.44) can make it three in a row in top grade B1 company having fluffed his lines at the start when favourite for an open last time.

Harlow has a week-starting double-header with the fancies being Darren Fenn's Edermine Bucks (1.19) who rallied well to win a similar A7 contest last time, and Kevin Lundie's Snoozing Dracula (7.04) who can rebound from an odds-on D4 reverse with a better break.
