Time honours shared in Laurels, with Tuesday run-off to come

DROOPYS UNREAL and Slick Sanctuary shared time honours in the semi-finals of the 2026 Bar 1 Betting Irish Greyhound Laurels over 525 yards at Curraheen Park but the €30,000 Classic is on hold pending a Tuesday morning run-off,

That became necessary when Ballycowen Moon and Magical Jet dead-heated for the second qualifying position in the opening semi behind Ian Reilly's impressive 28.20sec winner Droopys Unreal, who cut across his field at the first bend and drew clear to score by six lengths.

That time was matched by Karol Ramsbottom's all-the-way winner Slick Sanctuary in the third semi, while Liam Dowling's Ballymac Setanta overcame trap six in the second semi with a minimum of fuss, leading off the second bend to claim victory by seven lengths in 28.38sec.

The final of the 'Derby Of The South' can be seen live on sisracing.tv on Saturday 17th October.
