Treaty in third Irish St Leger final as Diego sets the semi standard

CLONBRIEN TREATY booked his place in a third consecutive Irish St Leger final with an authoritative performance in the opening semi-final of the Callaway Pro Am @ Stud-sponsored Classic over 550 yards at Limerick.
Graham Holland's dual defending champion was out-trapped by both Flight Club and Drombeg Banner but paced up well to turn in just behind.
He passed Drombeg Banner to assert early in the back straight, saw off that rival fully by the third bend and went on to beat a rallying Flight Club by three and a half lengths in 29.68sec.
Flight Club's trainer, Paul Hennessy, went one better in the second semi courtesy of a brilliant performance from Hello Diego.
It was effectively all over when the Towcester Maiden Derby winner broke well and was able to hold his pitch although it was only at the third bend he fully asserted.
It was a question of how far from that point as he pulled away to score by five lengths from Blastoff Heffo in a superb 29.49sec with Cagey Billy third.
