Vauban to follow up first career success in Youghal's A6 opener

STRIKE early at the start of a new greyhound week by siding with HOLLYHILL VAUBAN in Youghal's A6 opener over 525 yards at 11.13.

Ger Gubbins' pup opened his account at the sixth time of asking one rung down last week and some performance it was as he drew right away to score by eight lengths in a career-best calculated time of 29.83sec.

A few of his rivals boast better clockings, albeit not particularly recently, but the selection still has scope for considerable improvement and looks something to bet on as a result.

Subsequent Youghal fancies are William O'Brien's Bookseller (11.29) and Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Champ (12.54).

Harlow has a Monday double-header with Sharon Saberton's Essjay Fortune fancied to complete an A5 hat-trick in the 12.29 over 415m, while Jason Gornall's Blitz Hurricane can also make it three on the bounce by landing a similar contest at 7.42 on the evening card.

Doncaster and Suffolk Downs host afternoon meetings with Ricky Overton's Da President (3.11) ready to further enhance an already fine Donny D3 sprint record, while Laura Pruhs' Come Back Kid (4.18) returns to his winning A3 grade at the last-named venue.
