All the stats that matter from the third round of the Irish Derby

WI CAN JAMES matched the best time of the 2026 BOYLE Sports Irish Derby when landing his third round heat in 29.10sec despite being only second fastest through the third bend sectional mark.

Honour of quickest to that point went to Bouncing Monarch with a 16.93sec split, five spots faster than Wi Can James who then translated his 16.98sec into a three spots sharper overall time.

The duo were the only two to break the 17.00sec barrier in round three, taking the competition total to 12 such greyhounds.

The average winning heat time last Saturday was 29.35sec, matching round two, with T3 top trap on three winners ahead of two apiece for T2 and T6 and a sole success for T1.

The average winning SP was 4.60/1, one and a quarter points bigger than the previous stage as three odds-on favourites were beaten.
