Beachgrove looks a likely Lad at Pelaw after smart comeback win

BEACHGROVE LAD impressed on his return from a short break when winning over the course and distance last week and a quick double is on the cards in Star Pelaw's 6.46 over 245m.

Glenn Foot's dog was a relatively unfancied 9/2 shot on that occasion but is sure to be much stronger in the market today and can outspeed a couple of fellow recent winners to take charge by the first bend.

Foot can also score with hat-trick seeking Mary Gee in a 435m maiden at 7.04 while his Burrow Bell has solid claims over the same trip at 7.42.

Other Star Pelaw open fancies are Tom Heilbron's Links Jester (7.58) and Jim Storrie's Glenbowen Coogee (8.34).

Valley is first track to start with Donna Davy's Epic Evelyn, an open winner just two outings ago, standing out against A2 rivals at 12.04, while Debbie Calvert's unexposed Tommys Ruth can make it two wins in three career starts by landing a Doncaster B5 at 12.46.

There is afternoon and evening Irish action from Lifford and Clonmel respectively - at Lifford the David Park duo of Harrys Pepper (4.56) and Lotus Frank (5.46) look good, likewise Michael O'Connell's Mollys Melody (8.26) at Clonmel.
