Bundle stars in Irish Oaks R3 as Kamala battles to stay unbeaten

DROOPYS BUNDLE took star billing in the third round of the 2026 Sporting Press Irish Oaks over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.

A smart break saw Robert Gleeson's bitch quickly in charge in the opener and she saw off any threat from closest pursuer Ballymac Gwennie by halfway, going on to beat that rival by three lengths in 28.04sec.

Liam Dowling made it seven heat victories in the event to date by registering a double courtesy of Ballymac Chantry (28.09sec) and Ballymac Kamala (28.41sec) who secured a last-gasp win to maintain her unbeaten Irish Oaks record, while the other heat went to the syndicate-owned Silent Noelle (28.15sec).

Earlier, Gleeson's Carrick Becks, winner of the Track Champion Open Unraced at Kilkenny in April, had landed a first victory away from that venue with a brilliant 28.09sec effort in the second round of the Shelbourne Summer Cup over 525 yards.
