Diamond and Sandwiches are drawn together in third round

BOCKOS DIAMOND and Cheap Sandwiches, first and second in last year's Irish Derby final at Shelbourne Park, will meet in a fascinating heat four in the Star Sports/TRC English Derby third round over 500m at Towcester on Saturday.

The Graham Holland-trained kennelmates both maintained their unbeaten records in the event with round two victories in a best- and third-best of stage 28.51sec and 28.65sec respectively.

Holland was also responsible for the second best time in the shape of Bombay Pat who clocked 28.53sec as Ireland saw 15 of its raiding party qualify.
