Holland trebles up again in Kirby as Tina sets round two standard
BALLYDOYLE TINA took top honours on the clock in the second round of the €80,000 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial over 525 yards at Limerick as her trainer Graham Holland landed a heat treble for the second week running.
Having already sent out Bockos Gold (28.00sec) t0 account for ante-post favourite Ballymac Setanta in heat two, Holland then saw Beanos Yank (28.21sec) take heat five before Ballydoyle Tina put the icing on the cake in the heat eight finale.
A superb 1.23sec sectional ensured she was always in control, and she sauntered home eight and a half lengths to the good of Montana Secret in a best-of-event 27.87sec.
Earlier, ex-UK and fastest first round winner Bouncing Monarch followed up in style when taking heat seven for Michael O'Donovan in 27.87sec, the trainer having previously landed heat three with Cushie Flytplan (28.22sec).
Other winners were Brendan Matthews' Ello Ello and Mark Robinson's
Getup The Boy (both 28.03sec) plus Liam Dowling's Ballymac Duffle (28.30sec).
Con & Annie Kirby Memorial (Limerick, final Saturday 18th April): 9/2 Ballymac Setanta, 5 Bockos Gold, 6 Ballydoyle Tina, Bouncing Monarch, 10 Getup The Boy, 14 Ballymac Duffle, Ello Ello, 16 Ballymac Chantry, Beanos Yank, 20 bar (e-w 1/4 1,2,3,4).
