Joshua set for knockout blow on Donny rivals

GOTHIC JOSHUA has won his last three at the track and Sam Lapidge’s dog makes plenty of appeal on his return to Doncaster for the 450m open heat which starts evening proceedings there at 6.29.

This is a decent contest but the selection is always a tough nut to crack when able to call the shots which looks on the cards.

Heat two of the minor competition follows at 6.46 with Darren Golightly’s Newline Kielty the pick, while one-off suggestions are Dave Fradgley’s Look Smart (7.42) and Sean Parker’s Romeo Talisker (8.16).

Sue Watson's Ballinabola Moly (12.46) can capitalise on a downgrade at Donny's early meeting.

There is also evening open action at Star Pelaw where the standout is Cheryl Ingham's five-timer seeking Sunnyside Gurkha in the 435m  finale at 9.31.

Other Pelaw fancies are Glenn Foot's Tickets Outlaw (6.04), Rick Holloway's Razldazl Barkley (7.14) in a hurdles contest notable for the absence of brilliant kennelmate Mickys Tribute and Colin Watson's Pothole Bob (9.01).

There is Saturday afternoon Irish action at Youghal with Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Jen (2.08) rated best while other picks at the coastal vene are Witches North (2.26), Grouchos Benn (2.44) and Carefree Swift (3.03).
