Monk's winning habit sees him into 4/1 for Irish Laurels success
DROOPYS MONK, the sole remaining unbeaten runner in the event, is 4/1 generally for the 2026 Bar 1 Betting Irish Greyhound Laurels after going fastest in round two of the €30,000 Classic over Curraheen Park's 525 yards course last Saturday.
Barry Clancy's dog is joined on that price by Sober Barry after only half a length separated the pair last weekend, Droopys Monk holding on for a half length victory in 28.09sec.
Liam Dowling's first round record breaker Ballymac Setanta suffered a shock 1/5 reverse at the hands of Michael O'Donovan's Lone Calling (28.68sec) but retains favouritism, while Dowling's Ballymac Kamala was a springer from 25/1 into 9/2 after her 28.12sec victory and then again drawing trap one in the semis.
Ian Reilly's Droopys Unreal impressed when posting 28.15sec while other second round winners were Pat Guilfoyle's Magical Jet (28.39sec) and Seamus McMahon's Lissatouk Sydney (28.45sec).
Lissatouk Sydney, a middle, is one of only two seeded runners left along with wide Ballycowen Moon - Ballymac Setanta goes from six in an all-railer second semi-final this weekend,.
