Sandy to prove handy at Donny and register her second victory

HOLLYHILL SANDY has hit the ground running at Doncaster and can make it two wins in three at the track with victory in a D3 over 275m at 12.46.

Sue Watson's ex-Irish bitch was shaded on debut after recovering from a slow start but benefitted from that experience when leading at the first bend latest and there is surely more to come.

This is a tougher assignment but the selection is on an upward curve and looks well worth following.

There is also early action at Valley where Paul Maynard's Race For Spud (11.45) can land a first A4 victory at the second attempt having just been picked up in a similar contest last time.

The focus then moves to Ireland where both Clonmel and Lifford have evening fixtures with the respective suggestions being Derek Kehoe's Slaneyside Bosco (8.34) and Jason Whyte's Marlfield Bucko (8.26) in a sprint open.
