Thunder's margin is trimmed late but she claims the Dobbin Derby

TRIMMER THUNDER was a surprise 12/1 winner of the Alan Dobbin Maiden Derby final over 435m at Star Pelaw.

Trained by Ross Miller for Isaac Warrilow, the winner made a fast start from trap six and cut across bunching rivals to take command at the first turn.

Favourite Parkfield Bella got into the clear along the back straight and closed with every stride but the line came just in time for Trimmer Thunder who prevailed by a short-head in 26.01sec (normal), while there was nearly nine lengths back to Bisto Jayden in third.
